The FAMU Rattler football team did just the bare minimum to win Saturday, defeating SWAC East Conference foe Mississippi Valley State 31-28 in Itta Bena, MS.

FAMU jumped out to 17-0 lead during the first three quarters, before giving up 28 points to the Delta Devils in the third and fourth periods.

The Rattler offense turned the ball over three times, including a lost fumble that the Delta Devils capitalized and scored their first touchdown on. QB Rasean McKay threw two interceptions, one returned to the seven-yard line setting MVSU up for a short touchdown.

FAMU continued to struggle with penalties being flagged six times for 81 yards, including a penalty on third and goal that gave the Delta Devils a first down at the two-yard line.

The Rattlers return to action Saturday, for homecoming against the Grambling State Tigers.  The Tigers are 3-4 overall, 2-2 SWAC.
