The Rattler football team’s season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs Saturday night as No. 17 Southeastern Louisiana University scored touchdowns on each of its first three possessions in route to a 38-14 win.

The Rattlers ended the season with a 9-3, and now looks to hit the high school recruiting trial to prepare for the 2022 season.

The Rattlers who were making their 12th playoff game in program history, their first since 2001, struggled against SLU and were not able to keep an offensive drive going for most of the first half.

The SLU offense on the other hand, had their way with the fourth-ranked Ratter defense racking up 503 yards, 38 points, and 29 first downs.

FAMU scored a pair of touchdowns in the waning minutes to lessen the final margin.

The Rattlers can use the experience to build for the 2022 season.
