Pro football scouts from 30 of 32 NFL teams and two CFL teams attended FAMU football’s Pro Day on Monday to workout 10 graduating seniors at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The scouts put the former Rattlers through a series of high-intensity workouts and agility drills for two-hours. FAMU linebacker Derrick Mayweather shines at FAMU Pro Day in front of NFL scouts.
"It was an amazing day, and I am really proud of our guys. We know the heart of these guys, how much they love football ... when you turn the film on and see how these guys played this past year - then you add what they did on the field today - I think (NFL scouts) will see what they need to see to realize these young men can play football at the highest level," said head coach Willie Simmons.
In all, 10 Rattlers worked out for the scouts at Pro Day. The top player many of the scouts wanted to see in person was Markquese Bell, a 6’3/205 lb. Defensive Back, from Bridgeton, NJ. Other players high on the scouts’ radar was defensive lineman Savion Williams, along with Antwan Collier and Keenan Forbes.
