The FAMU baseball team (10-17, 4-3 SWAC) were too much for the Alabama A&M
(5-16, 3-4 SWAC) as the Rattlers scored 8 runs off of 18 hits enroute to an 8-0 victory over the Bulldogs Friday afternoon in Alabama.

In the first inning, the Rattlers scored three runs off four hits, including two RBIs from Adam Haidermota, to move ahead with a 3-0 lead. The Rattlers didn’t score again until the top of the fourth inning when Jalen Niles singled to right-center and brought home Haidermota to increase the lead to 4-0.   Joseph Pierini  followed up by singling to second base, which allowed Niles to score again and increase the Rattlers lead to 5-0.

The Rattlers continued their offensive assault by scoring two more runs in the seventh ending.b
Both teams went scoreless in the eighth inning, but the Rattlers rebounded in the top of the ninth scoring again as Ty Hanchey delivered a home run to right field to close out the 8-0 victory.

The Rattlers are back in action today, Saturday, April 2, for their second game against Alabama A&M. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Calhoun Community College's Fred Frickie Park in Tanner, Alabama.  AAMU had to move the series to the community college after tornados damaged their field Thursday.
