The FAMU (25-27, 18-10 SWAC) baseball team dropped game one of its three game home series against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (24-29,18-10 SWAC) 5-3.
The series is a crucial one for the Rattlers who are hoping to hold on to the No. 2 spot in the SWAC East heading into the SWAC Tournament next week.
The Wildcats scored first with in the top of the 2nd inning, before the Rattlers responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd . BCU scored again in the 5th inning to tie the game, and rallied again in the ninth inning to score 2 runs to put the game away.
The Rattlers who just last week were the No. 1 team in the SWAC East are now riding a four game losing streak. The Rattlers and the Wildcats meet on the diamond against this afternoon at 5 p.m.
Update: FAMU dropped game two of the series 4-1 and falls to No. 3 SWAC East.
