As of May 23rd, FAMU had raised more than $23 million during FY 21-22, exceeding its goal of raising $12 million by $11million dollars.  Of the $23,132,208.69 the university raised just 1.5%, or roughly $300,000, came from alumni chapters.  According to the data, alumni chapters contributions in FY 21-22 mirrored their contributions in FY 20-21.

Individuals who identified as “alumni” contributed $3.468 million or 15.4% in FY 21-22 versus $1.896 million in FY 20-21. This year, the university had expected to raise $5 million from corporations, but took in close to $12 million.

Of the $23 million raised this year, $20.2 million was in cash, $2.3 million was in pledges, and $600k was in planned gifts.  This year’s fundraising haul was a big jump compared to the $10.8 million the university brought in FY 14/15.

FAMU's banner fundraising year follows up on its successful 1887 Strikes campaign which raised over $640k from over 1,642 donors.
