The 18 member search committee tasked with finding FAMU’s next Vice President/Director of Athletics has narrowed its search down to six candidates after two days of screening interviews conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday via zoom.  The committee interviewed 11-candidates from the 38 that applied.

The search committee agreed to invite to campus for further interviews: Yulander Wells, Jr., Deputy Director of External Affairs at Harvard University;  Craig Angelos, former Deputy AD at Temple University; Tiffani Dawn Skyes,  Executive Senior Associate AD at Dartmouth College; Angela Suggs, President and CEO of the Florida Sports Foundation; Michael Smith, interim AD FAMU; and Marvin Green, who previously served as Director of Amateur Sports and Special Events at the Florida Sports Foundation.

The committee initially had planned to narrow the list down to only four candidates for campus interviews, but  Smith and Green, two local candidates, who did not make the initial cut were added to the list after a contentious discussion.

Green, a former associate AD and golf coach at FAMU, also benefited from the committee’s benevolence last week to make it to the list of semifinalist.
