Rattler football players continue to rack up preseason honors. This week linebacker Isaiah Land, wide receiver Xavier Smith, defensive back BJ Bohler, and kicker Jose Romo-Martinez were named to the BOXTOROW Preseason All-American Team.
Land and punt returner Jah'Marae Sheread were also named to the Phil Steele FCS All-American First Team. FAMU was the only HBCU to have two players named to the Steele FSC first team.
Land, the 2021 Buck Buchanan Award winner, again earned preseason accolades by being selected as one of 35 players for the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List, which honors the best defensive player in FCS football. He looks to become the second player ever to win the award Buck Buchanan Award back-to-back.
