FAMU students "Suit-Up" at JC Penney ahead of Fall Career and Internship Expo

JCPenney's and FAMU once again teamed up to help students build their professional wardrobes at the 3rd annual FAMU Suit Up event at the Tallahassee store.  The allowed FAMU students to receive up to 60 percent off formal wear and business attire in advance of the fall Career and Internship Expo.  Items on sale included suits, dresses, dress pants and shirts, shoes, accessories, and more.
 
The three-hour private shopping event is designed for students to purchase outfits for their job and internship interviews, said Career and Professional Development Center Director Bill Means, Ed.D.  More than 500 students participated in the event.
 
In addition, “FAMU distributed nearly $6,000 in gift cards, made possible by President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., and other faculty and staff who donated money for the cards, said Means.
 
About 200 employers have registered to recruit at the Fall 2022 Career and Internship Expo which began yesterday and continues today at the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center.
