FAMU volleyball defeat Southern, Tx So, & Alcorn

The FAMU volleyball team shut out Southern University 3-0, and defeated Texas Southern 3-1 in the first day of the SWAC volleyball cluster in Baton Rouge, La.
 
 
The Rattlers improved to 11-0 in SWAC play, and 14-11 overall this season. The victories also extended the Rattlers' SWAC win streak to 23.
 
In the opening game FAMU defeated the Jaguars (26-24, 25-15, 25-14).   The Rattlers had 40 kills to SU’s 25 in the game.   
 
In the second game,FAMU limited Texas Southern to just three kills and a .069 hitting percentage in the opening set, but the Tigers rebounded nicely to take the second set. 
 
The Rattlers never trailed in the third and had the crowd inside Seymour Gymnasium on pins and needles in the fourth, where TSU led most of the way. Three straight kills brought the score to 23-21 and forced a TSU timeout, and a 4-0 run lifted FAMU ahead 25-24.  

update: The Rattlers wrapped up action in the second SWAC cluster this morning by sweeping  Alcorn State 3-0.
