In just about any college football conference, two league losses narrow the margin for error. That’s where both FAMU and Southern finds themselves this evening.
The Rattlers (6-2/4-1 SWAC) are riding a 6 game winning streak, backed up by a 14 game home winning streak. The Jaguars (5-3/3-2 SWAC), on the other hand, are coming off a 35-0 loss to Jackson State.
FAMU needs a victory tonight to keep their NCAA playoffs hopes alive, and the Jaguars need a victory to keep their fading Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game hopes alive.
The Rattlers who are last in the SWAC in rushing yards per game, showed signs of better balance last week by rushing for 201 yards last week and 297 yards in the air.
Last week, AJ Davis rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. FAMU will need that same kind of offensive production again this week if they hope to be successful.
