Marching100 travel to perform at Nike/LeBron James H.S. basketball tournament in Los Angeles

The FAMU Marching 100, this week, traveled to Los Angeles, California, where it they will perform at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Chosen-1’s Invitational high school basketball tournament at the University of South California’s Galen Center tonight at  6pm ET (3 pm PST).  The tournament is sponsored by Nike in partnership with LeBron James.  

The band members will play at three halftime shows during the four-game tournament.    

The four-game showcase will feature the following high schools: La Jolla Country Day from La Jolla, Calif. (girls), Mater Dei from in Santa Ana, Calif. (boys and girls), Sierra Canyon from Chatsworth, Calif. (boys and girls), St. Vincent-St. Mary’s from Akron, Ohio (boys and girls) and Wheeler from Marietta, Ga. (boys). 

 

All games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network (nfhsnetwork.com) .

 

Nike is covering the expenses for the 60 band students, and six to eight staff members/media team.

 

This is the band’s first trip back to the west coast since their 2019 performance at the Rose Bowl Parade.  The trip follows up on the their most recent high profile performance in Paris, France, this past summer, for Louis Vuitton.
