Rattlers defeat Hornets 69-58 for second SWAC win of season

FAMU men's basketball team defeated the Alabama State (6-16, 4-5)Hornets 69-58 in nationally televised home game on HBCU-GO -TV Monday night. 
 
The victory helped the Rattlers improve to 4-16 (2-7 SWAC) on the season.  FAMU had four players score in double figures, led by Noah Meren, who had 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals, Jaylen Bates added 15 points, eight rebounds, two steals and three  blocks, Jordan Tillmon helped out with 15 points and four assists, and Hanz Louis-Jeune, who had 14 points and two rebounds.

The Rattler defense held the Hornets to just 35 percent shooting from the field, including 21.1 percent from three-point range.

Lady Rattlers fall to ASU 77-68
The Lady Rattlers lost  77- 68 to Alabama State Monday night in the Al Lawson Center.  FAMU saw its 10 point halftime lead evaporate late in the fourth quarter after it committed 11-second half turnovers.

The Rattlers had lead the Hornets from the 5:03 mark in the 1st quarter well into the fourth quarter before they began to fade.
