Rattlers suffer SWAC losses to Bethune

The FAMU Rattlers men’s basketball team lost their SWAC opener to Bethune-Cookman 67-59 at home Monday night.
  The Ratters struggled offensively shooting 18-47 from the field and shot only 25 percent (3-12) from 3-point range. 
 
The Rattlers (2-10, 0-1) had two players score in double figures Jordan Tillmon 
who had 19 points, and Byron Smith who added 18 points and six rebounds off the bench. Jaylen Bates added six points and 14 rebounds.
 
Defensively, the Rattlers were a little better pulling down 41 rebounds compared to Cookman's 31. 
 
Bethune scored 12 points off Rattler turnovers. 

Ladies fall by 35
The Rattler women’s basketball team suffered a 35 point defeat to Bethune-Cookman Monday losing 85-50 dropping their record to 2-10, 0-1 SWAC. 

They struggled out of the gate falling behind 26-6 at the end of the first quarter. The misery continued to mount as they continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 42-16 halftime deficit.

Things didn't get better after the half as the Rattlers faced a 59-27 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter.
