The
FAMU’s College of Law’s first-try passage rate on the February Bar Exam was just 40%, meaning that only 8 of the 20 graduates who sat for the exam actually passed it.

This was a 16% drop from February 2022.

The score was the next to lowest among the 12 accredited laws schools in Florida, only Barry University had a lower score at 39.3% (Florida Coastal School of Law closed in 2021).   Only four of the 12 schools -- FIU, UF,  St. Thomas , FCSL saw an increase in its Bar pass rates for the latest exam, and all but 3 had scores in the 40s.

The 54.7% first-time average pass rate on the February 2023 was the lowest avg. rate pass rate on the Florida Bar 15 years, according to the groups own records.

This is not an encouraging trend, said Michele A. GavagniBoard of Bar Examiners Executive Director, who noted there wasn’t anything substantively different about this exam.
