Rattlers beat Bethune 5-4 Sunday afternoon

The Rattler (23-25, 17-10 SWAC) baseball team  had to use an extra inning to defeat in-state rival Bethune-Cookman (27-23, 18-9 SWAC) 5-4 Sunday afternoon at Moore-Kittles Field in Tallahassee. 

The Rattlers lead the Wildcats 3-1 heading into the 9th inning when BCU rallied scoring 3 runs to move ahead.  FAMU scored 1 run in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game up.  
 
FAMU was able to hold the Wildcats scoreless in the 10th, and score a run in a bottom of the 10th on an RBI to put the game away. 
 
The victory ended the Rattler’s four game losing skid.  
 
FAMU will now host the No. 1 team in the SWAC East, the Alabama State Hornets for a three game series this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
