FAMU athletics named Capri Howard as the new head women’s bowling coach. She begins work on August 28th.
Howard is a former four-time All-SWAC bowling team member (while playing for Jackson State) and served as a graduate assistant coach at Valparaiso University (last year) where she is pursing a Master’s degree.
"I am thrilled to welcome Coach Howard as the Head Coach of FAMU Bowling," said Tiffani Sykes, Athletics Director. "With her background as a former SWAC student-athlete and NCAA Division I coach, she is well-equipped for this role. Her expertise, vitality, and genuine passion for the sport, along with her dedication to HBCUs, truly set her apart from a strong field of applicants. I eagerly anticipate providing my support to Coach Howard and the Rattler Bowling Team in their quest for FAMU's first-ever SWAC Championship."
"I am excited to embark on this journey with the athletes at FAMU," said Howard. "I plan to instill the values of hard work and discipline. As a former SWAC bowler, I understand the importance of excellence on and off the lanes. I am excited to contribute to the development of the ladies and create new heights for the program."
