Former FAMU band director to be inducted into National Band Association Hall of Fame

Dr.
 Julian E. White, retired, Director of Bands and Chairman of the Music Department at FAMU has been selected for induction into the of the National Band Association (NBA) Hall of Fame of Distinguished Conductors. 

Dr. White will become only the 60th band director to be inducted in the Hall of Fame’s 44 years of existence.  A formal induction ceremony will take place in February 2025.  He will become the second former FAMU band director to receive this honor, Dr. William P. Foster was inducted in 1988. 

Dr. White will join such luminaries as Foster, John Phillip Sousa, and William D. Revelli as members of the NBA Hall of Fame of Distinguished Conductors.

Dr. White currently serves as an elected member of the prestigious American Bandmasters Association and on the John Phillip Sousa Foundation Sudler Award Committee.
