The FAMU Rattlers baseball team demonstrated their prowess on the diamond with a doubleheader triumph over Alabama A&M. In an intense battle, the Rattlers emerged victorious Friday and Saturday with scores of 11-9 and 17-11, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive resilience. These victories propel FAMU to a commendable 20-18 overall record, with an impressive 16-2 standing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Maintaining their stronghold, the Rattlers continue to lead the SWAC East division.
With momentum on their side, the Rattlers are poised to close out the series against the Bulldogs today at 1 pm at Moore-Kittles Field, aiming to further solidify their dominance on the diamond.
Meanwhile, the Lady Rattler softball team brought their A-game in a doubleheader against Mississippi Valley State. With impressive displays of skill and determination, they secured victories with scores of 6-3 and 4-0. These wins elevate the Lady Rattlers to a 20-17 overall record, with a stellar 16-4 record in the SWAC. Holding firm at the top of the SWAC East division.
In women’s tennis, FAMU --the defending SWAC Champs-- showcased their excellence once again as they triumphed over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs with a commanding 4-1 victory in the SWAC Championships to propel them to their second consecutive SWAC Championship appearance today against Alabama State, underscoring their exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
