FAMU is set to reopen its main campus in Tallahassee on Monday, after a devastating tornado caused extensive damage to roofs, downed trees, utility poles, blocked roadways, and left the campus without power.

For the past ten days, non-essential employees have been working remotely to ensure their safety and to facilitate the speedy removal of debris and repair of damaged buildings.

The university is now ready to welcome back the 3,200 undergraduate students and 463 graduate students enrolled in Summer A&C classes. To accommodate the disruptions caused by the storm, the add-drop period has been extended to Monday, May 20.
