The FAMU Rattlers baseball team capped off their regular season with an impressive series victory over conference rival Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). The Rattlers took two out of three games in the series, showcasing their dominance ahead of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships.

In the series opener, the Rattlers delivered a commanding performance, defeating MVSU 7-3. The game was marked by strong pitching and timely hitting, with the Rattlers' lineup consistently applying pressure on the Delta Devils' pitchers. Key contributions came from senior infielder Jamal Howard, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, propelling the Rattlers to a decisive victory.

Game two saw FAMU's offense explode for a 13-3 victory, further solidifying their superiority. The Rattlers jumped to an early lead and never looked back, thanks to a barrage of hits and a solid outing by starting pitcher Michael Reeves, who struck out eight batters over six innings. Sophomore outfielder Alex Hernandezhad a standout performance, driving in five runs with a pair of doubles and a triple.

Despite the Rattlers' dominance in the first two games, MVSU managed to salvage the final game of the series, winning 7-3 on Friday. The Delta Devils' pitching staff stifled the Rattlers' bats, while their offense took advantage of several key scoring opportunities. However, the loss did little to dampen the Rattlers' spirits as they had already secured the series win.

With this series victory, FAMU not only closed out their season on a high note but also solidified their position at the top of the SWAC East standings. The Rattlers' overall record and conference performance have earned them the number one seed heading into the SWAC Championships.
