FAMU has once again proven its prowess in fundraising, announcing a record-breaking year with a staggering $26.9 million raised during the 2023-24 academic year, which concluded on June 30th. This monumental achievement surpasses previous records.

The university's fundraising efforts were bolstered by a year-over-year increase in  corporate donations, which accounted for approximately $15.8 million of the total funds raised. This substantial support from the corporate sector underscores the growing recognition and value placed on FAMU's mission and its impact on the community and beyond.

Notably, the majority of the funds raised were earmarked for scholarships, a testament to the university's commitment to providing accessible and affordable education to its students. This allocation will undoubtedly enable more students to pursue their academic dreams without the burden of financial constraints.

"This record-breaking fundraising year is a clear indication of the confidence our donors have in FAMU. Their generosity will not only enhance our students' educational experiences but also ensure that we continue to lead the way in innovation and excellence," said FAMU President Larry Robinson.

The fundraising success is attributed to a combination of strategic initiatives, robust alumni engagement, and the university's unwavering dedication to the community. The university's development team, led by Shawnta Friday Stroud, who recently stepped down as Vice President of Advancement, played a pivotal role in cultivating relationships with donors and securing these significant contributions.

The university plans to leverage this momentum to further enhance its academic programs, research initiatives, and campus facilities, ensuring that FAMU remains at the forefront of higher education.
