Lymas Walker |
Lymas, who previously worked alongside Crarey at St. Thomas University, is touted as defensive guru who helped coach STU to their conference a regular season championship in 2024, advancing to back-to-back NAIA tournaments, back-to-back 20-win seasons, and finishing in the second round of the NAIA tournament this year.
He also has experience on the high school level serving as head coach at Avant Garde High School where he led his team to its first-ever winning season, a 19-4 record, and back-to-back district championship appearances, culminating in a Florida State Tournament berth. Lymas' experience also includes a stint at Barry University, where he was part of two NCAA Division II tournament appearances and helped the Buccaneers achieve notable rankings and successes.
Walker, joins the Rattlers from Arizona Compass Prep, brings a high school coaching background that includes leading his team to a High School Chipotle National Tournament and achieving a 24-7 record. Walker's experience extends to the collegiate level, having spent time at Louisiana State University (LSU) as a graduate assistant and coordinator of basketball operations. His role at LSU was preceded by two seasons as a student assistant coach at Washington Adventist University, where he was instrumental in game scouting and strategy planning.
The additions of Lymas and Walker signal Coach Crarey's commitment to building a strong, coaching team capable of guiding the FAMU men's basketball program to new heights.
