FAMU baseball sweeps AAMU and extends win streak

FAMU baseball continued its late-season surge, sweeping Alabama A&M in a decisive three-game home series over the weekend to extend its winning streak to five games. The Rattlers’ dominant performance solidified their hold on second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings and boosted momentum ahead of their final regular-season matchups.

The Rattlers (24-21, 15-6 SWAC) outclassed the Bulldogs in all phases, showcasing clutch hitting,  and airtight defense. , FAMU beat AAMU 17-2 in game one, 8-4 in game two, and 15-5 in game three, showing their readiness for postseason contention. The sweep marked the team’s longest win streak of the season and positioned them just two games behind SWAC leader Bethune Cookman.

Road to the postseason
With the SWAC Tournament looming, FAMU will close its regular season with a critical road series against 6th place Texas Southern (May 9-11) and last place Alcorn State (May 15-17). Strong finishes could secure a top-two seed and a first-round bye in the conference tournament, which begins May 21 in Birmingham, AL.
