  2. It took a fight -- but the Rattlers were able to strike, and strike, and strike against Castell's selfishness.

  3. Castell's probably mad as hell that so many people rallied for this one act and that she wasn't able to make a credible excuse for the band not to participate in such a national exposition as the Super Bowl. Don't think that she didn't come up with a thousand different reasons why the band should not participate. This time, however, the roar of the crowd was too deafening for her own irrational thinking and behavior. Can you simply imagine all of the exposure that such a thing as participating in such a mega event as the Super Bowl presents. Their presence at this game will be priceless.

  4. I'm so excited that the "Hundred" is going to the Super Bowl once again. This time, however, will be a once and a lifetime achievement. To play with the one and only Prince is something that will talked about for years to come. Dr. White and the "hundred", we love you. Represent FAMU well!!!!
And to my fellow FAMU Rattlers, look what we can do when we stand united!

  5. Despite Castell's constant personal attacks against Dr. White, the band still continues to have banner years.

I remember how hard it was for me to read the news about Castell racking up deficits, decreasing enrollment, and firing employees in a vindictive manner. However, when I saw the March 100 members performing with Kanye and Jamie, it was like a revival. That's the power of the great band tradition that FAMU carries.

Let's direct all the unity that this adversity has created into supporting James Ammons for university president. He will work to support FAMU's students rather than trying to find ways to sabotage their organizations.

  6. OK ...

Now that this is all over ...

Is the ENTIRE Band performing with The Artist ... Or just a select few - As was the case with the Grammys?

  7. The roar of the crowd needs to be just as loud in the presidential selection process. Let the board know we will not settle this time.

Join the campaign for James Ammons!

What difference does it make? The SB commentator would refer to the band as the Florida A&M University Incomparable Marching 100...those that paved the way and baby 100 members yet to be born; it's the 100 Baby!

  10. I will only offer this, the lyrics from the song "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" by MacFadden & Whitehead; This one's for you Castell!

    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We're on the move!
    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We've got the groove!

There's been so many things thats held us down.
But now it looks like things are finally comin' around.
I know we've got, a long long way to go,
and where we'll end up, I don't know.
But we won't let nothin' hold us back,
    we're putting our selves together,
    we're polishing up our act!
If you felt we've been held down before,
I know you'll refuse to be held down anymore!

    Don't you let nothing, nothing,
    Stand in your way!
I want ya'll to listen, listen,
to every word I say, every word I say!

    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We're on the move!
    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We've got the groove!

    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We're on the move!
    Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!
    We've got the groove!

I know you know someone that has a negative vow,
and if you're trying to make it they only push you aside.
They really don't have, no where to go.
Ask them where they're going, they don't know.
But we won't let nothin' hold us back,
we're gonna put our selves together,
we're gonna polish up our act!
And if you've ever been held down before,
I know you'll refuse to be held down anymore!

  14. Go ahead alumni! I LOVE the way we were able to SHOW Castell and get our Band to play, despite those alleged hazing charges and that little ole' stealing up in Detroit, oh, and those bad grades that had most of them off the band at the beggining of the year!! Yeah!

Oh yeah, are we going to unite and make sure our graduation rate (in 4 years) increases?! Or are we content with below national average numbers?

I'm glad we will get exposure on a National scale at the superbowl, but it's times that we put the energy and effort we used as alumni for dancing and singing and put that in the education part...
