Twenty-six months into the Castell Bryant administration, BOT Chair Challis Lowe blames past administrations for the university's current inability to pay employees.
Retiring General gives new general two letters and tells him to use in case of problems.
On first problem, the new general opened the first letter and it said blame the previous administration. He did and the press was good. He got another chance. Things went well.
On second problem, the new general opened the second letter and it said write two letters.
Do you think that CastOut has opened the 2nd letter. Is she stuck on the first one?
The Board of Trustees and the Tallahassee Democrat continues to blame Dr. Humphries for FAMU's current fiscal problems. Dr. Humphries has not been President since 2001, almost six years ago. Yet he continues to be vilified for current problems at the University. The Democrat posting that scathing and personal attacking article from the St. Petersburg times on the same tdo.com page of Diane Hirth's article regarding FAMU's payroll stinks to high heaven. This newspaper continues to misrepresent and twist the facts to impugn the reputation of Dr. Humphries. The Democrat continues to insult the general public with these propaganda and counter-intelligence tactics. It's time that all rattlers stand-up and let this newspaper know that it is no longer going to accept any attempt to lay blame anywhere other than where it belongs....at the feet of Corbin, Castell, Lowe and the rest of these republican groupies put in place to soften the public for a much larger agenda....This regime has been defeated. It's time that all rattlers and the general public announce to the Democrat that its a new day. Get onboard! Link: http://tdo.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070226/BREAKINGNEWS/70226014
Exactly when will FAMU management admit that blaming others never resolve a problem? Frankly, if the people being blamed were the actual cause of the problems the problems would have disappeared along with those being blamed. IT IS TIME FOR SOME PERSONAL AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY!
Why are we still blaming 2001 stuff for 2007 issues. Last I checked ALL of HUMP's audits passed the state and were certified. So who's fault is it really?
What is happening? I have never seen so many problems. My questions are as follows:
How was this situation allow to get so out of control? If you have the money then how hard is it to pay someone?
Here is what I know about the payroll process.
No one is allowed to advertise a position unless it has been cleared by the appropriate persons in Human Resourse. So, why would someome tell a prospective employee that it is ok for them to start work, or should I say, why even advertize the position before you get approval from the appropriate source.
Moreover, whom ever these person are that did not follow protocol should be dealt with according, but the poor people that worked should be paid.
What do you do? Scnerio: If this is true, peole's lights being turned off, threaten with eviction, etc, etc. How can you act as if "Business As Usual?" Wake up people this could by your paycheck. Let their not be people turning their heads looking the other way while other are not getting paid. This affects all of Florida A&M University and everyone's pay. Someone/persons administrators need to say something concrete to the students, employee, taxpayer, parents of students. What the hell is going on.
You know what else FAMU, generally people incurr more expenses when they get behind in their finances/can't pay their bills. Late charges, increased interest, when using credit cards to pay bills, etc. As you can see late payment charges, increased interest rates, etc, all these things cause a person to slip way behind financial. They slip so much so that even when they get paid, they still can't feel the comforts of their money, they are very busy playing catch-up. As you can see this is a vicious financial cycle that these people are having to deal with. By the way, who will help them with the extra expences they have incurred do to lack of pay? This is a sad state of affairs for everyone, including those that have been getting paid. Because you never know when it will be your turn not to get paid.
It's simply amazes me (still) how the administration can constantly and consistently blame folks long gone from the university. To let Castell & Challis tell it, they have done absolutely nothing wrong, incorrect or in error. They've been correct in all of their administrative decisions. Seven-hundred fifty five persons have had payroll problems, but neither of these administrators are assuming any of the blame for what is happening??? Amazing. Absolutely amazing.Whatever payroll problems Fred Humphries had--of which they were some, of course--they were NEVER of this magnitude. And girlFriend has been at the helm for over two years. Come on, now, Castell. Give us all a break on the blame game.
What a great way to place the blame elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteChallis is Lowe!

ReplyDeleteReminds me of a joke.

ReplyDeleteHow many psychologists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
ZERO
You just find someone to blame and sit in the dark for the rest of your life.
Did I say "psychologists?" I meant "FAMUians"
ReplyDeleteC'mon people... change the damn light bulb and get out of the dark ages. It starts with you.
