FAMU honored Sen. Al Lawson last night at a black tie gala at the Civic Center. The event raised $225,000 for student scholarships and more than 800 people turned out to show their appreciation for all tha Sen. Lawson has done for the university.
"It wasn't difficult for me when I was asked, 'Who should we honor?' ” FAMU President James Ammons said. "When you talk about execution and come through and delivering - that's what Sen. Lawson has done for FAMU."
I hope that total doesn't include pledges. What percentage of pledges do they actually collect?
