Confirming accounts that Rattler Nation received during the Orlando Classic weekend, Bethune-Cookman University’s website has been updated to reveal its newly-hired interim vice-president for academic affairs: Castell V. Bryant.
Bryant, who served as FAMU's interim president from 2005 to 2007, replaces Marilyn Sutton-Haywood, who had held the position since January 1, 2008.
Thanks, also, to RN readers for their tips on the latest developments.
HAVE THEY LOST THEIR EFFING MINDS!!!!! They'll learn.
ReplyDeletebye, bye Bethune!
ReplyDeleteWTF? I know Mary McCleod Bethune is rolling in her grave. I mean, WTF? Surely the BCU people are not that desperate to fill a position that they have hired this person. Trudie Kibbe Reed must be friends with "that one." Either that, or
ReplyDeletethe BCU people, like Sarah Palin, don't read newspapers. That's it. My bad.
Two words........HE@L NAW!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis shows what type of relationship president Reed had with Dr. Bryant. She may actuall work out down there because she always wanted us to be a four year college primarly anyway. But I think that Dr. Reed made a bad choice in hiring this lady because if Bryant dosen't like someone she will surely fire them. Lets hope that Dr. Reed dosen't give Bryant to much leway otherwise BCU will be on a decline within a few months.
All I can say is that any place that hires Bryant after what she did to FAMU deserves what she is going to do to them.
ReplyDeleteMan please. I bet Truddie hired Castell to fire all the dead weight walking around Cookman campus. And ya'll know Castell has no problems being the bad guy. She has nothing to lose by Wildcat supporters hating her. Castell is probably doing something Truddie doesn't want to do. Glad she's not our problem anymore. Good Riddance to that fake Rattler.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who wrote Castell's letters of recommendation. And what did she list as her accomplishments from her previous position?
ReplyDeleteGood Question 9:54p
ReplyDeleteCan that woman EVER hold a permanent title?
ReplyDeleteCastell is the "Interim Queen" of Florida's HBCUs.
ReplyDeleteInterim President at Florida Memorial.
Interim President at Florida A&M.
Interim Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Bethune-Cookman.
I guess she's going to try and make Edward Waters her next stop.
No, her next stop is Chancellor of the University System. Just read that job description for that position, and ain't she tight with all the people who are responsible for filling that position. Yal better do your homework! Just wait and see! I smell trouble for FAMU.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was so nice having Bethune-Cookman in the FLA Classic. In a couple years we'll be playing FIU in Orlando, as BCU will only have 10 students after losing their accred.
ReplyDeleteHBCU administrations never learn. The dead weight just keep making their rounds until they are ready to retire.

ReplyDeleteI may not be a huge Castell fan, but she did some things at FAMU that saved face for our current Prez. Lets be honest! Dr. Ammons gets to be the good guy and move things forward.
Secondly, Dr. Reed has an excellent career reputation herself and I'm sure she knows what she's doing. Why is her assistance to BCU a concern to FAMU?
If my reading of various newspaper articles is correct, she fired folks for wrong doing and many of them are being indicted by the FEDS as we speak. Sounds like an asset than a liability to me.

That is particularly correct, she also fired individuals that had noting to do with federal investigations and informed her staffers not to allow those individuals to be hired anywhere else on campus. So that ultimately ruined the lives of innocent people while also giving the University a black eye that it is still recovering from, thanks to Dr. Bryant.
Wow
ReplyDeleteIf Castell is appointed head of the university system, the Board of Governors will be even more of a laughingstock than it already is.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Senate ran off Challis Lowe because she supported Castell. Al Lawson, now Senate Democratic Leader, wouldn't give Chancellor Castell the time of day.
But, I still wouldn't put much above the BOG. They continue to make very ridiculous moves.
As long as Charlie Crist is Governor of Florida, CastHell will never be Chancellor of spit. And, you can take that to the bank.

ReplyDeleteYou think Crist gives a muck about FAMU. Her hiring just set a plan in action. FSU president ain't talking smack about seperating the ENG School for nothing. I believe that was part of Castell's plan when she was here. With her as Chancellor, we loose all our professional programs including the ENG school. Everything happens for a reason. Just wait and see! I just hope FAMU is not at the short end of this witch's broomstick.
