The Rattlers outscored opponents 37–7 across two days of action, showcasing power, poise, and relentless execution to improve to 5–4 on the young season.
From mercy-rule routs to gritty late-game surges, FAMU put the entire field on notice with a performance that balanced explosive offense with composed pitching and sharp defense.
Day 1: No doubt, early finish
The Rattlers came out swinging on Friday, overwhelming Bowie State and Coppin State by a combined score of 22–1. Both contests ended early via run rule, setting a tone of dominance that carried throughout the weekend. The lineup was relentless, the pitching was sharp, and the statement was clear: FAMU was here to win.
Day 2: Complete team efforts seal the sweep
Saturday brought tougher tests, and the Rattlers answered with maturity and clutch play. They opened with a well-earned 6–2 win over Hampton, using timely hitting and steady defense to control the game from the circle and the batter’s box.
They saved their most dramatic finish for last. Facing North Carolina Central, FAMU broke open a tight game late, erupting for a 9–4 victory to cap a perfect weekend. The win exemplified this team’s resilience and firepower—when the moment arrived, the Rattlers delivered.
