The 56th annual FAMU Relays gets underway today at the Pete Griffin Track and Field Complex. Nearly 50 high school and college teams will compete in the two-day event, which begins today at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. Since the event's inception, Olympic gold medalists such as Bob Hayes, Edwin Moses and Wilma Rudolph have competed.
Collegiate participants include: Albany (Ga.) State, Arkansas--Pine Bluff, Beloit College, Bethune-Cookman, Clark-Atlanta University, Edinboro (Pa.) University, Edward Waters College, Grambling State, Marietta College, Southern University-Baton Rouge, Tennessee State, Troy (Ala.) University, Winston-Salem (N.C.) State. The Relays continue through tomorrow.
