The Florida Senate's refusal to confirm trustee David Griffin created a new opening on the FAMU Board of Trustees. The Senate refused to confirm Griffin's appointment because he is a lobbyisit and his appointment flew in the face of the Legislature's directive that no lobbyisit should be appointed to state Boards.
Among the contenders to replace Mr. Griffin is Tallahassee Surgeon Spurgeon W. McWilliams, MD.
Spurgeon would be a waste of time and another problem for FAMU, but a plus for the Corbin/Castell bunch.
ReplyDeleteThe NAA and alumni should get behind a real candidate and the none the sooner.
For the Blog Writer: is he the only candidate known to be interested? Are there any other options out there?
