Former Florida A&M Baseball star and one-time director of Alumni Affairs, Alfred "Al" McCoy, passed away Sunday after a short battle with cancer.
Mr McCoy was a personable and energetic man, who brought a zest for life into all his endeavors. A true Rattler, Mr. McCoy was FAMU's first baseball all-star, and enjoyed a career in the Negro Leagues. Mr. McCoy recently served as Special Assistant to the Athletic Director, under Interim Director Dr. J.R.E. Lee, III from November 2002 through the Fall of 2003.
Funeral services are set for Friday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E. Church at the corner of Wahnish Way and Orange Avenue in Tallahassee.
