It’s that time of year again. Time for the 2006 Black Blog Awards, the second annual recognition of achievement and excellence by and for Black Internet users who have their own weblogs, or “blogs” as they are more commonly known.
There are rules and new procedures for nominating and voting for your favorite blogs this year, designed to make it a fairer process, as well as a list of new and interesting categories.
The nomination phase runs from August 1 – 15, followed by the voting from August 16 - 31, from the three top nominees in each category. Winners will be announced on September 3. Nominate Rattler Nation for Best New Blog, Best Original Content, Best Political/News Blog, Best Topical Blog, Best Blogger Acheivement Award, Blog of the Year, and Blog to Watch. And any other stuff you want to nominate us for.
By-the-way, we are recommending "AngryBlackMF blog" for "Best Humor" and "Best Personal Blog".
consider it done!
ReplyDeleteu deserve it.
RattlerNation definately deserves to be nominated and win in every category.
ReplyDeleteYou have done an outstanding job keeping us abreast of what is "really" happening on the hill.
And I might add, using a "fair and balanced" approach (smile).
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
A.D.
Everyone check out the new messages on the "Looming SACS Mess - Part I" posted by "unsilent majority" and others on 8/1/06. It looks as if Vivian Hobbs herself is reading this blog and putting her own C.V. up on this site to prove she is qualified to lead our SACS process.
ReplyDeleteRN has become so prominent in the FAMU community's public discourse that it cannot be ignored any longer even by the most biased individuals who follow the interim administration in a sheep-like manner.
From the 8/2/06 Democrat Zing:
ReplyDelete"Is the writer who castigated Castell Bryant a member of the same fraternity as the last two FAMU presidents? You know, the ones who left the university in shambles. Or is it fear of strong, uppity, black women who get the job done?"
I am so tired of those who try to deflect criticism of Bryant's incompetence by claiming misogyny.
Face it. Castell Bryant is a Mary McLeod Bethune or Johnetta Cole. She is conniving, irresponsible, wanna-be who rolling back decades of progress at FAMU.
To my knowledge, FG was not a fraternity man and FH is an Alpha...so fvkkin what
ReplyDeleteMaybe she is counting Henry and I'm sorry but I don't know if Henry is greek but again..
WGAF
How about this? Maybe Castell and Co. are misandrists.

ReplyDeleteCastell Bryant, Debra Austin and their staff have done more to change a culture of medicocrity that has long filled many of the administrative and executive positions at FAMU, more so than anyone since Dr. Humphries arrived in 1985. Anyone who has ever lifted weights understands that muscles are otrn down before they are built up---Castell should be commended for sweeping the inept out, while ushering confidence in.
Don't need a lab rat and experiment to prove CRACK is dangerous.
Does Castell really want to be referred to as an "Uppity Black Woman?"
ReplyDeleteUppity - Taking liberties or assuming airs beyond one's station; presumptuous: “was getting a little uppity and needed to be slapped down” (New York Times).
Uppity my ass! Castell is about as common as they come! But back to the topic at hand, certainly RattlerNation deserves to win in every category nominated and we must make sure it does. Let's represent Rattlers!!!!
ReplyDeleteRattler Nation is so on the one that it is just like a cup of coffee in the morning. I got to have it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you receive your award, be sure to thank your momma and God!!
ReplyDeleteBallots have been cast and the winner in my humble opinion is none other, "Rattler Nation."
ReplyDeleteAnd the nominees are:
ReplyDelete1. Rattler Nation
2. Rattler Nation
3. Rattler Nation
4. Rattler Nation

And the winner is..........
R A T T L E R N A T I O N!!!
