Castell doesn't want Senator in Parade

After 24 years, State Senator AL Lawson has been barred from participating in the 2006 FAMU Homecoming Parade.

FAMU Officials placed three telephone calls to Sen. Lawson's office to inform him that he IS NOT to participate in the parade. Our sources tell us that it was made very clear that the Senator was invited to sit in the reviewing stands but CANNOT participate in the actual parade.

Is this how FAMU treats someone who bust their tail to secure $31 million for the University this past Legislative Session? See: Lawson's $31 million for FAMU included in state budget

  3. Well, what do you expect? This is the same person that campaigned personally across the state of florida against Dr. Alvin Bryant because Big "AL" wrote Dr. Bryant a letter endorsing him for a second term.

  7. Man, Fuck her and the horse she rode in on. Al Lawson's 31 million dollars is bigger than the chip on her shoulders. I wish that bitch would just pack her shit-up and go.

If she would call at me at (850) 566-0305, I would gladly help her pack.

  8. Let's face it folks. Our interim president is a petty witch!!!!

  9. We all know that Bryant is intimidated by strong black men. She refuses to let them in her close administrative circle and does whatever she can to attack and discredit any high-profile Rattler man with a large following the FAMU community. Her war against individuals like Fred Humphries, Larry Robinson, Henry Lewis, and Al Lawson is no coincidence.

There are no strong, independent- thinking, outspoken black men in Bryant's corner. Wilbert Hobbs and Joseph Wright? Please. Vincent June and Keith Jackson? Need I go on?

This interim president wants to emasculate FAMU's black male community as badly as the KKK nightriders.

  11. Wow. Who next or rather what next???

  12. Wow. I saw the title but I totally didn't expect to see Al Lawson's picture next to it. I mean, what exactly is being prevented or accomplished by this?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, I sure her supporters will co-sign soon and justify her good reason for doing this.

  14. What? You're saying that Rufus Little isn't a strong black man?

Hey Rufus, we know you're out there reading this. Defend yourself!

  16. I'm amazed that contributors seem to treat this blog as if it were a private chat room.

This is a public forum that is searchable on the internet, hosted by Google's Blogger!

Everything you say will be maintained. It will represent the spirit of FAMU for a long time to come.

And will it represent FAMU well?

The way you respond: Is that how you want posterity to judge the level of debate at this university? It sounds more like a street corner.

    ReplyDelete
  17. And castell is standing on that corner. She is fond of telling folks that she ain't scared to meet them in the streets. Thugs R Us! How's that for prosperity.

  18. Maybe I'm clueless . . .
But who gives a shyt who is in the parade? How many of ya'll have ever gotten up early enough to see it anyway?

I'm sure Al Lawson and Castell Bryant have better things to do than to worry about this petty shyt.

    Carry on.

I knew that Rufus couldn't resist coming on this blog to snap at his critics.

Hey Rufus, if you're so concerned about FAMU being represented in a positive manner, then why don't you try doing your job with a little integrity? Stop helping Castell spin $10 million deficits and cover up gross financial mismanagement from the press.

Or here's another idea, maybe you should stop worrying so much about what's on this blog and start studying for the damn Florida bar exam.

  21. Al Lawson has acquired hundreds of millions for FAMU over the course of his legislative career.

    How much has Bryant raised?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bryant's goal isn't to raise money, it's to bury us. Think about it: falling enrollment, falling foundation balances, falling research dollars, nearly $3-million spent on KPMG without hiring any permanent FAMU employees to do the work of the University, the Colleges of Pharmacy and Engineering's buildings scuttled which practically hands those units over to FSU, a 2-year search for a new president. What about all this makes you think she wants or plans to see FAMU survive? Al Lawson, as a Democrat, symbolizes the political will to upset her plans. If Crist wins, plan on anything FAMU becoming museum pieces!

  23. This barring of the senator isn't about politics. It's a personal vendetta that the interim president has against the senator. When he acquired the 31 milloion $$ during this past legislative session for FAMU, I didn't see her barring him from arguing the need for those dollars. CVB has some serious problems that have very little to do with academics and politics. I think she's in need of some serious psychological therapy. And if she has not sought the services of a mental health professional, that should be one of her next (personal) agenda items.

  24. Barred from the parade?
It's NOT Castell's parade. So what if big Al decides to go on and participate in the parade. I guess she'll stop the whole damn parade until he gets out of the car he's riding in. Don't put it past her to do such a thing, if, in fact big AL decided to go on and be in it in the first place. If he decided that he dodn't want to be in the darn parade, then that's one thing, but to have the man barred because you have a personal problem with him is just plain stupid. Castell thinks that every damn thing at that school belongs to her. One thing's for sure: she won't have any buildings or programs or grants named for her when she FINALLY leaves. Unless, some enterprising person wants to establish a "We're Glad You're Gone" grant, or a "What Took You So Long?" grant. Now, those two might work. Any takers?

  25. If CastHELL could control this blog, you better believe it would've been shut the hell down before she even got here. Believe me, I ain' got no love or respect for the woman. And she has the nerve to call herself a Rattler. Yeah, she's a rattler all right. She'll bite and poison anything that doesn't agree with her crazy politics--which is pretty much anything and everybody.

  26. Didn't they do the same thing to Bill Proctor last year? Keep him out the parade?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ha

The Castell Vaughn Bryant Explusion Office

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well then ...

What's stopping EVERYONE running for office in the State (Pro OR Con FAMU) who wants to be in the parade from being in it ... If it's found out that he got in without filing the proper paperwork?

After all this time, if he can't fill out some simple paperwork ... then let him watch from the street like everyone else. He may indeed be a "Friend of FAMU" all these years and whatnot, but he is still not above reproach from following simple procedure.

Let the man fill out the proper paperwork to be in the parade ... And quit making this BS into more than it really is!

  29. When are we going to get a "real" president and get rid of the “insane” who is acting before she destroys the university?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well, what do you expect? This is the same person that campaigned personally across the state of florida against Dr. Alvin Bryant because Big "AL" wrote Dr. Bryant a letter endorsing him for a second term.

You sure about that endorsement? Ask Big Al next time you see him.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I did and he said he supports Alvin Bryant 100% this weekend.
