Candidates forced to break bread with IP

RN has learned that candidates will be required to have breakfast with the interim president before meeting with other stakeholders this week. Interestingly enough, the meetings are scheduled to take place for an hour and do not show up on the official candidates schedule released to the media.

Inquiring minds want to know, why the interim president is screening candidates for the top job?

Update...

Here are the final schedules which were given to the candidates, but not released to the media. As usual click on picture to enlarge it.

  1. That's fine. Let Bryant sit in the presence of James Ammons, a real president.

  2. It should have read,

The IP is "forced" to break bread with the Candidates.

  3. No, the headline is correct. Hell, no even the IP's friends and family can stand her ass!

She even has a tough time getting her dog to like her.

  4. Yeah right. Someone should tell the candidates to check with TK, Lawson, Corbin, Gainous, Gray-Ray, Austin, Wanton and others to watch your back because that woman will lie on you on the drop of a dime.

The BOT are foolish and reckless to have Castell anywhere near this process.

    SHAME ON THEM!

  6. What is the purpose of Castell meeting with the candidates?

Where is Rosey when you need him. Thank our lucky stars there is a RN, because this would have been another coup by Challis Lowe and Castell.

Rattler family watch out. The games have already begun.

  7. Why should anyone be forced to throw up at the breakfast table??

  8. "No Weapons formed Against Ammons shall Prosper". This is all being done to discredit his candidacy. Call Roosevelt and let him drop the "Bomb" on her before Ammons gets to town or even Johnson. They (Cast-Hell and Low-Low) have hand-picked Thompson as the next President. No-Go they have revealed their hand.

  9. James Ammons needs to eat before he comes or bring his own plate to the breakfast. The plan might be to slip him something. Then they'll probably try and blame Fred Humphries for leaving spoiled food in the refrigerator five years ago.

Doc Ammons, please don't eat whatever Castell places in front of you!

  10. It's poison.

  11. Someone give Ammons a gift card for Olean's so he can fill up before he sits down with Castell.

  16. James Ammons - Questions should be addressed with regards to his leadership team and in particular Mr. Charles O'Duor who has not had permanent administrative staff since arriving on the campus of NCCU. In fact, over 20 plus females in and out of the Vice President's Office for Financial Affairs. Good leaders should mandate a "great leadership team without excuses."

  17. If the UFF hadn't punked out they would have asked Thelma Thompson why key staff are jumping ship left and right and going to other institutions like NCCU; why the faculty have been placed on furloughs; and why faculty and staff haven't received significant raises.

If the UFF was serious, they would have also asked Thompson why she has been on the prezy circuit hunting for a new position so soon after arriving at UMES. Has she really made that much of a difference to be moving on to a university 3 times the size of UMES?

Don't start no mess BT. We are watching you.

  18. With the exception of one or two BOR members, they all should hand in their resignation to the new governor. This just makes absolutely no sense at all, the interim having anything to do with the process. It's just ridiculous. How can this madness be going on? Jesus Christ.

  19. I am no Castell fan either, but damn can the woman be hospitable to visiting dignitaries on the campus. It's just same eggs and grits..calm down!

    Jeez...ya'll a hateful bunch!

Questions should be addressed with regards to his leadership team and in particular Mr. Charles O'Duor who has not had permanent administrative staff since arriving on the campus of NCCU.

Hey everyone, it's Vincent June again! He's forever trying to take unfounded pot shots at Doc Ammons. These assertations are not substantiated by any factual information.

Charles O'Dour was an excellent financial administrator at FAMU and has done wonders at NCCU. NCCU has received clean operational audits each year under his watch. His performance has consistently received the stamp of approval from North Carolina's state auditors.

Castell Bryant, on the other hand, led this institution to one of the worst operational audits in its history. She gave KPMG millions to report a surplus when there was really a $10M deficit.

The Florida Auditor General's office pointed out that anyone with even an elementary understanding of financial accounting should have been able to tell that KPMG's numbers were not accurate by a long shot. However, Castell still insults our intelligence by telling us that the state auditor's report is wrong.

We definitely need O'Dour's financial management skills at FAMU. He is a competent, proven leader. One Charles O'Dour is better than the entire group of people that Bryant has hired to run FAMU's financial division.

  21. Dr. Ammons has a fine record of hiring capable, qualified black women to high-ranking university positions.

A black woman, Beverly Jones, serves as Provost and Vice-Chancellor (the number two position in the university).

A black woman, Susan L. Hester, serves as Interim Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement.

A black woman, Sharon Saunders, serves as Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Public Relations.

Dr. Ammons does not have a problem with gave strong black women a chance to lead, as Vincent June wants us to believe.

  22. Good leaders should mandate a "great leadership team without excuses."

If you claim to believe that and still support Castell's administrative team, then you are one the biggest hypocrits in Rattler Country.

Castell HAS NOT hired a "great leadership team."

    Look at her administrators:

Debra Austin - the JUCO administrator who shies away from tough decisions and can't distinguish a university-level research program from a doorknob?

Vivian Hobbs - The SACS point-person who can't even comprehend something as basic as the alternative credentialing process?

Rufus Little - The VP of Compliance and Audit who's a jelly-backed "yes-man" to Castell and is considered a joke by the State Auditor General's Office?

Gerald Dunn - Whoops, he had enough sense to jump ship. He doesn't want his reputation marred by the voodou accounting that's happening within the Bryant administration.

Kenneth Tague - Whoops, he's gone too. He was Bryant's buddy from Miami-Dade who she brought in to run financial aid. Bryant used to march down to Foote-Hilyer, curse him out in front of all his employees and tell him he was less than a man. She finally had no choice but to fire this incompetent former friend. But financial aid still hasn't recovered from the damage he did.

KPMG - They reported a surplus when there was actually $10M deficit. The State Auditor General's Office pointed out that anyone with even the most elementary understanding of finances should have been able to determine that the numbers KPMG submitted were not accurate by a long shot.

Altha Manning - the "yes-woman" who carried out Bryant's orders to hack apart the research division, which has led to a multi-million dollar drop in research contracts and grants. Have you seen the state of the alumni affairs office today?

Elizabeth McBride - while she wasn't brought on by Bryant, she's been an integral part of this inept administration. She's the great legal mind that brought us the SBI 8, Billy Joe case, and botched Percy Luney dismissal - with over 100 lawsuits to go.

These people are not doing their jobs. They are sending FAMU backwards and making us a public-laughing stock.

  23. Junie baby is that you? You and Rufus never give up.

Don't worry we will not forget how you have allowed the division of student affairs to rise to greatdom! And you Rufus have brought our financial house to its knees. We will remember everything you have done to make FAMU great!

  24. Stop looking at CastHell's hires through juandice eyes. These people are incompetent and would have been run out of town or never hired in the first place. Only under CastHell.
