Rattlers fall to Hampton in OT

The Florida A&M Rattlers fell to the Hampton Pirates in overtime 74-72 victory Monday night. The loss is the second in a row for the Rattlers who also dropped a league game to Norforlk State on Saturdaay.
The Rattlers (13-11, 7-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) were up by 2 points with 1:03 to play, but Michael Freeman made a layup with 48 seconds remaining to tie it 64-64.
Freeman led the Pirates (9-12, 6-5) with 23 points and six rebounds, and Rashad West added 22 points.
Rome Sanders had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Rattlers, and Ernest Maul added 15 points.
Florida A&M outshot Hampton 48.2 percent to 35.6 percent. The Pirates outrebounded the Rattlers 44-42.
