"I just hope that God will continue to bless us, so that we can continue to try to give something back each day to America's most precious possession, the youth."
--Eddie Robinson
Rattler Nation joins with the rest of America in mourning the lost of Legendary Football Coach Eddie Robinson. Eddie Robinson was more that just a great football coach, but a molder of young minds. He was an inspiration and role model to many, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy of excellence and leadership, as well as breaking every conceivable coaching record in college football history. Coach Robinson's profound impact on the people he has met encouraged them to follow in his footsteps and to be the best that they could be.
His esteemed career found him breaking records as well as racial barriers. Spending his entire coaching career (57 years) at Grambling State University, he was the first black coach to win 300 games, including 17 conference championships. He has sent more players, over 200, to the NFL than any other coach.
Eddie Robinson died yesterday. He was 88 years old.
Rest Easy Coach Robinson, you've done your job here on earth well. The Almighty has a great angel at his side watching over us.
