FAMU Hall of Fame Defensive standout William "Billy" Rolle, himself the son of another FAMU Hall of Famer Women's Basketball great Frankie Shannon Rolle, lead the Miami Northwestern Bulls yesterday to their second consecutive 6-A State Championship, and his third state championship as a head coach. Northwestern dismantled Orlando Boone 41-0 in front of 23,000 people in the Orlando Citrus Bowl. The victory game Northwestern its 30th win in a row.

Northwestern (15-0 ), and ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today, ikely claimed the mythical high school national championship.

  2. No, we don't. We want him to stay at Miami, where he builds character in young men, where young folks look up to him, where he has established a tradition of not only winning but in being a great role model for a city of disenfranchised young people (girls & boys), where he knows how to teach and reach and preach the business of strength, morals and character, and where he brings hope. On many fronts these attributes are more powerful than winning. And while I know that winning is a great, big, giant part of "the game," so much more is riding on the term "winning." FAMU will be ok. I think Billy Rolle will be getting plenty offers (as he obviously has in the past), but for a multitude of reasons--far too many to list here aside from the ones already listed--I think he's where he wants to be. And Should Be.
