Castell is back

The photo of former interim president Castell Bryant, which had been mysteriously missing from the display of the current and former university leaders , has been returned to the wall. After several months absence, Mrs. Bryant's picture hangs in a shining "newish looking" frame located near the mens restroom just outside the main entrance to Lee Hall auditorium.

  2. As much as I hate to admit it, a good portion of her criticism is sexist.
Granted she has been the definition of incompetence and has held back FAMUs progress in a number of areas. Lets not forget that Gainous had absolutely no clue what he was doing also and he began the journey towards futility, and I don't recall him being met with such negative reaction.
I'm a black male and seeing some of the ways for which she's been vilified is disappointing especially compared to her equally incompetent predecessor and the incompetent board that hired both of them.

  3. 1:24,

you made some good points. how here criticism has been sexist, I'm baffled. and, surely gainous was equally, if not more incompetent. the difference is that gainous wasn't as mean and as intentional about what he did to destroy FAMU as Castell was.

that's why you may see the difference in treatment, not because of sexism.

  4. When RN posted "Castell is back" I was afraid that she had been re-appointed to the Board of Governors with her buddy Carolyn Roberts.

There are a number of key differences between Gainous and Castell.

Gainous did not let enrollment drop.

Gainous did not have any qualified audits.

Gainous did not cut back research.

Gainous did not try and give FSU the entire engineering college.

Gainous did not leave the university on probation with SACS.

Even with all the problems that occurred during Gainous' tenure, he never came close to being as bad as Castell. Castell was the worst president in FAMU and State University System history.

  7. Please do not forget the most ugly display of her didain for our beloved FAMU. She told the St. Petersburg Times that she would not only NOT send student's to FAMU but any HBCU. How sick can you be MISS DELTA? Her sickness has nothing to do with being sexist, she was an equal opporunity creator of "divide and (attempt) to conquer. Her living will not be in vain, she has to answer to a higher power along with others who still remain on campus.

  8. When i saw the "castell is Back" headline, I instinctively gasped. No way, I said. Then I read the article. RN, you shouldn't scare a sista like that.

  9. OK, RN, we get the picture--literally and figuratively. It's now time to remove the old girl's photo from the site. We're tired of her grinning at us. We all know what she looks like, and we don't like her looks.

As another poster pointed out, Castell quit before being fired. She was given the choice to submit her resignation before being kicked out. I don't believe she deserved that option, but such as it is... Ding dong! The witch is dead!

  11. LOL at 12:35...

She doesn't like us, so why should she be granted such an honor...send it to the St. Pete Times and let them pin up on their Wall of Shame...Boo for her...and them!
