Rattlers post-season run ends

FAMU Baseball team's post-season run in the MEAC Tournament came to an end today as the Rattlers fell to Norfolk State 5-2 victory over Florida A&M in the elimination.

FAMU outhit Norfolk State, 8-6, but failed to score the necessary runs to win.

The Rattlers left nine men stranded, missing several opportunities in the early innings to take control of the game, leaving the bases loaded in the third and leaving two on in the first and, fourth and seventh innings.

Norfolk State (24-23) advanced to the finals of the loser's or elimination bracket of the tournament Saturday at 6 p.m. against the loser of the winner's bracket final between Bethune-Cookman/North Carolina A&T game at 2 p.m. FAMU's season ends with a 20-22 record. It's been 14 years since the Rattlers won their last MEAC baseball championship, and this year will mark the fifth year that they failed to make it to the championship game.

The young Rattlers, will only lose four members of this year's team to graduation.
