The Florida A&M Rattlers had their way with the Howard Bisons yesterday afternoon as the Rattlers ran, at will , and passed, at will, enroute to a 51-24 victory. FAMU QB Eddie Battle threw for 154 yards and accounted for two touchdowns, while Phillip Sylvester rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown for the Rattlers (2-1, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Florida A&M jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter when Joseph Wims returned a fumble off a snap for a 65-yard touchdown. Quier Hall followed with a 67-yard interception for a score.
Adrian Smith added a score on the first play of the second quarter when he caught a 43-yard touchdown from Battle. Kevin Elliott,who had five catches for 75 yards, caught a 2-yard touchdown from alternate quarterback Curtis Pulley to put the Rattlers ahead 48-0 in the third. Howard's Floyd Haigler completed 30-of-47 passes for 306 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Bison (0-3, 0-2).

ReplyDeleteCould we be on our way back to the glory days of Rattler football when we'd put up 40 points before halftime...even so, it's still good to see them performing well on all cylinders!!
