Rattler takes SBI savvy to Broadway

Radio mogul Oscar Joyner is best known for heading REACH Media, the parent company of his father’s Tom Joyner Morning Show and BlackAmericaWeb.com. Now, the Texas-based FAMU alum is venturing out where the neon lights are bright – on Broadway.

In his theatre producing debut, Joyner has joined the marketing team of American Buffalo, a play about three small-time crooks plotting a coin collection heist. The star-studded cast features: Cedric The Entertainer (BET’s “Comic View”), John Leguizamo (Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam), and Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense).

“The ensemble that is American Buffalo creates a unique opportunity to become involved in a one-of-a-kind production,” Joyner said. “I couldn't resist the opportunity to lend my resources and expertise to a cast and production team already destined for greatness."

At FAMU, Joyner earned an MBA with a double concentration in Marketing and Finance. During his days on The Hill he looked up to Professor Sybil C. Mobley, founding dean of the School of Business and Industry, as a role model. Currently, he’s a member of the FAMU Foundation Board of Directors.
