Headlining this month’s event will be the Lindsey Sarjeant
Group. The "Saturday in the Park" Concert Series is free and open to the public.
Lindsey Sarjeant is a FAMU
professor of music, director of the jazz studies program, and director of the university's jazz ensemble. He is also a
music arranger for the Marching 100 band and FAMU Symphonic Band.
Sarjeant is a jazz pianist, composer, jazz lecturer and
historian, adjudicator and jazz keyboard clinician. His tours include Europe
with FAMU Jazz Ensemble in Paris, Monteux, Amsterdam and Brienz, as well as
touring with Pam Laws in the Soviet Union.
