Wood confirmed that the program had met most of its
offensive needs with the roster of new and returning players. He also said that
he will provide an opportunity for junior college transfers to join the team,
as well.
At the announcement, Wood received a question about the
ongoing discussions about a potential MEAC/SWAC championship bowl. He was asked
if he would support such a game if it meant forfeiting an opportunity to play
for a national-level NCAA title.
“Our staff and I would prefer to play on a national stage
without question,” he said.
