Florida A&M junior defensive end Calvin Darville was
named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday after
his stellar performance against North Carolina Central.
The 6-5, 255-pound performer from Belle Glade, Florida,
finished Saturday’s rain-soaked battle with seven tackles (six solos), with two
tackles for 11 yards in losses, and a forced fumble.
Darville’s first tackle for loss resulted in a safety,
giving FAMU early momentum, as they held the vaunted North Carolina Central offense
to 219 total yards Saturday.
