Three Key Takeaways
- Two games. One busy night. FAMU and Florida State both kick off at 7 p.m.
- Road closures start at 3 p.m. Plan your route to Bragg Stadium before you leave.
- Arrive early. Travel light. Gates open at 5 p.m.; FAMU’s clear-bag policy is in effect.
FAMU will face Albany State at Bragg Memorial Stadium, while Florida State hosts New Mexico State at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday evening.
For Rattler fans, the message is simple: Know before you go.
With thousands of fans traveling to both campuses, motorists should expect heavier traffic and road restrictions beginning several hours before kickoff. The overlap means delays could extend beyond the immediate areas surrounding the stadiums.
At Bragg Stadium, road closures begin four hours before kickoff, at approximately 3 p.m. Althea Gibson Way will be closed between Robert and Trudie Perkins Way and Okaloosa Street, while Perry Street will be closed between Robert and Trudie Perkins Way and Okaloosa Street.
FAMU is urging fans to use designated game-day parking or available public parking off campus. Several campus lots require parking permits, and access to campus will become more limited as game time approaches.
Fans should allow extra time to park, walk to the stadium and pass through security. FAMU's clear-bag policy remains in effect. Bags larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches must be clear plastic and no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Backpacks, coolers, outside food and beverages and umbrellas are among the prohibited items.
FAMU has published recommended routes for fans approaching Bragg Stadium from the north and south, with Althea Gibson Way serving as a primary access point.
Fans with disabilities can use ADA parking at the FAMU Welcome Center or SBI West lots. Complimentary shuttles will operate beginning two hours before kickoff and continue after the game.
The simultaneous games will turn Saturday into a citywide game-day operation, with fans moving toward two different stadiums at nearly the same time.
For those headed to Bragg, the safest strategy may be the simplest: leave early, know your parking location and check the route before getting behind the wheel.
The Rattlers and Albany State meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
