Sunday's win was the fifth straigth match victory overall
and left FAMU in sole possession of first place in the MEAC Southern Division
at 5-0, completing the first half of their 2016 league schedule.
Garcia, a freshman from the Domnican Republic, finished the
day with a match-high 14 kills, while Abreu, a freshman from Lima, Peru, added
10 kills, and a team-high 13 digs.
Junior setter Valeria Lopez led FAMU with 35 assists, while
sophomore Valentina Carrasco added nine digs Sunday.
