Packer and Union have been a winning combination at the box
office. Union previously starred in two of his movies that opened at the #1
spot: “Think Like a Man” (2012) and “Think Like a Man Too” (2014).
On October 19, Packer visited Tallahassee and presented a screening of his latest film starring Union, “Almost Christmas.” The event, which was part of the FAMU Homecoming celebration, took place in the local AMC Theatre.
“It’s an amazing time to be involved in producing great
television and this is the rare opportunity to work with Gab, who I think is
one of the best actresses doing it today, whom I also consider family,” Packer
said.
Union said she was just as excited to collaborate with
Packer again.
“I could not be any more thrilled to be once again teaming
up with Packer, who continues to deliver us home runs,” Union said.
The third season of “Being Mary Jane” earned a 2016 National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award for Outstanding
Writing in A Drama Series. BET President of Programming Stephen Hill is looking
forward to another successful season with help from Packer.
“Will’s a master producer and storyteller,” Hill said.
Season four of “Being Mary Jane” will premiere on Tuesday,
January 10, 2017.
