Too had 20 seconds on second place – but the Men’s team
champion Norfolk State Spartans claimed the second through fifth spots in the
running order. Anteneh Girma was second with a 25:08.40, while Bill Kemboi was
third (25:14.50), Ronald Korir came in fourth (25:19.40) and Felix Kiprotich

Kemboi and Festus Kemboi.
FAMU's fourth runner, Boniface Mutai suffered an injury early on, and was unable to finish, which changed the entire complexion of the race for the Rattlers. Mutai had been an integral part of the FAMU Men's resurgence this year.
The Spartans had 25 points in winning their 12th title
overall – and their first since 2011. Kenneth Giles was named the meet’s Most
Outstanding Coach, as his Norfolk State team averaged a 25:29.00 over the 8K
course.
Maryland Eastern Shore came in second with 84 points, while
Bethune-Cookman recorded 111 points to finish third. Florida A&M, North
Carolina A&T State, Savannah State, Hampton, Howard, Delaware State, Coppin
State, South Carolina State and North Carolina Central rounded out the team
standings.
The top 15 finishers were named All-MEAC.
