FAMU holds recruitment event for nearly 2,000 high school students in Orlando

Florida A&M University (FAMU) leveraged the Florida Blue Florida Classic Weekend as an opportunity to recruit Central Florida’s best and brightest high school students. Nearly 2,000 students attended a recruitment event held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress on November 16, where multiple top students, who previously applied, also received acceptance announcements.

The event included a keynote from President Larry Robinson, testimonials from alumni and student leaders, a performance by the FAMU Connection, student and program displays and one-on-one chats with representatives from various colleges, schools and campus organizations. The event is a component of the President’s Fall Recruitment Tour. Enrollment at FAMU continues to climb, and applications for admission have increased by more than 20 percent, as the demand for a FAMU education continues to rise around the country.
